This traditional bedroom needed an update. The busy floor tile in shades of peach and grey didn't blend with the seafoam green walls and tan accents. The furniture was heavy and boxy. It was decided that a new chandelier and new window treatments would have to wait. There is also a beautiful sculpture being made that will reside over the headboard. The tile was covered with a cream berber wall-to-wall carpet. The natural finished dresser and night stands are from Resteration Hardware as is the entablature mirror. The lamps are Timothy Olton. The bed is custom made from ABC Home. The scrumptious bedding is from Bella Notte using two color ways from their magnificent collection. The bench is reclaimed. The console is Phillips Collection. The chair is from Palecek. The room is painted in a Benjamin Moore cream custom mix and accented with dove white trim. The room has high ceilings, so a chair rail was added to break up the space. A grasscloth cream colored wall covering for the top half has been selected to be installed at a later date. It was decided that the custom shelving and large narrow mirrors flanking the bed were the priority in the budget. The mirrors were necessary to make the space more intimate, they frame the bed beautifully, allowing for the quintessential setting to show off that special piece of art. The shelves are done in an asymmetric design for interest. The room is finished with a cowhide from Saddlemans.
